SUCCESS OF KENT GYMNASTS AT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS
KENT GYMNASTS EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS – GOLD AT THE MEN’S SENIOR TEAM EVENT AT THE EUROPEAN GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MUNICH
Two Maidstone based Gymnasts from Pegasus Gymnastics Club, have had success at the European Gymnastics Championships in Munich, Germany, taking Gold in the Men’s Team Event on Saturday, making them part of the most successful GB Men’s team since Max Whitlock and Louis Smith in 2012.
James Hall and Giarnni Regini-Moran, along with their coach Ionut Tranndaburu travelled to Germany, after achieving Team Gold at the Commonwealth Games last month and they have continued to add to their medal collection this weekend. James and Giarnni took Gold in the All-Round Team Event and Giarnni bagged another Bronze to his collection on the Parallel Bars, with James Hall just missing out on a medal, achieving 4th on High Bar.
Along with his senior teammates’ success, Pegasus Gymnast, Oakley Banks, represented Great Britain’s Junior Team at the competition, with the Team taking a Bronze medal.
Ionut Tranndaburu from Ditton, who has coached the medalists to success said:
” It’s been the weekend that these boys have worked so hard for and the result they have deserved but dreamed of. I couldn’t be prouder of all the hard work, dedication, inspiring attitude, and spirit. They have worked together and are an absolute pleasure to coach and I look forward to the next chapter in this journey.”
With less that 10 weeks until the team travel to Liverpool, which will see gymnasts from across the globe come to the UK to compete in the World Gymnastics Championships, the sky is the limit for these amazing gymnasts from Kent.
